What’s that smell? It’s fudge ofcourse!
KLOOF STREET — Kloof Street has gained two new residents of the local business community, with Somerset West brothers Brad and Aaron Morris opening their new venture, Fudgepackers.
The two step brothers have made their name in the rather specialised field of fudge, producing and packing a range of handmade treats from their new Kloof Street premises. Brad and Aaron, now firmly established as the local fudgepackers, have taken a simple idea and turned it into a business they clearly enjoy. Their days are spent making batches, cutting portions and getting everything packed and ready for customers.
It is, by all accounts, honest work. The sort of work that requires patience, precision and a fairly impressive tolerance for being surrounded by fudge all day. For the two brothers, however, it appears to be less of an occupation and more of a calling.
The two entrepreneurs come from Somerset West, but their latest chapter has brought them into the heart of Cape Town, where Fudgepackers has taken up position on Kloof Street. Their arrival adds another small local business to one of the city’s best known streets, with the brothers bringing something considerably sweeter to the neighbourhood.
And while Brad and Aaron may be new to Kloof Street, they are already proving that there is plenty of room in Cape Town for two more dedicated fudgepackers. Residents can expect the usual signs of a thriving local business: busy days, regular customers and the occasional brother wondering whether another batch really needs to be made.
For Brad and Aaron, the work continues. The fudge gets made. The fudge gets packed.
And the two brothers from Somerset West appear to be exactly where they want to be.
